In a creative burst of horticultural design and finesse Portland’s annual Green on Green Garden Tour is back. This year’s tour, which takes place on Saturday, August 15 from 11am to 4pm, features the spectacular private gardens of Glen Andresen, Jeffrey Bale, Loree Bohl, Lauren Hall-Behrens, Greg Shepherd, and Tom Vetter.

The self-guided tour of gardens in NE Portland provides a peek into a designers’ garden rooted in a tropical style and a unique space where artful mosaics take center stage. Food production and beekeeping are at the heart of a productive year-round edible garden. Containerized succulents and sophisticated plants reign in another space while color, texture and form are the foundation of a front yard in a generous planting for the street. And a small urban garden provides a test site for a water wise, ecologically sensitive garden.

Start the day at Albertina’s Kitchen with a continental breakfast and pre-event container planting demonstration by Portland designer Bob Hyland. All proceeds from the tour and pre-event help support Albertina Kerr.

Since 1907, Albertina Kerr has been strengthening Oregon families and communities. Today, Kerr helps children, adults, and families with developmental disabilities and mental health challenges and empowering them to live richer lives.
