He has received two gold-medal awards from the Garden Writers of America. With over 100 freelance articles, including seven for the New York Times, he has a reputation for in-depth books and articles on gardening and environmental lifestyles. He has been gardening organically and consulting on sustainable edible landscapes for over 30 years.
