The GrowingMap Project

Articles: The GrowingMap Project

Throughout the West and beyond, gardens and farms are showing up on roofs and walls in a great greening of the contemporary urban environment. Our definition of growing space is evolving and it’s changing the world around us.

The GrowingMap project is a free, open platform that allows users to add location-based “vegetation locations”—green roofs, green walls, and urban farms. The information is then mapped and available to anyone online. The objective is to connect green roof industry professionals, designers, city planners, and interested citizens curious about the possibilities and potential of urban gardens.
