Lucky Baldwin’s National Register cottage guesthouse is open to the public only twice a year, so be sure to add to your calendar this rare opportunity to tour the cottage interior with knowledgeable docents. Baldwin’s matching Coach Barn will also be open and will feature story time for kids in vintage horse stalls that have their own interesting stories to tell. Down the path a short distance, the Santa Anita Depot will welcome visitors with docent-led tours and offer kids and adults alike a chance to try their hand at once traditional chores such as clothes wringing, rug beating and nutmeg grating.
