Oakland Rhododendron Show & Plant Sale

The American Rhododendron Society, California Chapter, welcomes you to its annual flower show and plant sale. This is the only rhododendron flower show in the San Francisco Bay Area this year. Last year’s show had over 500 flower entries, in all colors of the rainbow, from miniature plants to trees with 18″ leaves. Come prepared to be overwhelmed by the fragrance of these flowers. Native to the mountains of China, Tibet, India, Bhutan, and Sikkim, these plants are fast disappearing in the wild, as their native habitat is being destroyed. Both the lath house Vireya garden (tropical rhododendrons) and the outdoor rhododendron garden will be open to the public. A plant doctor will be on hand to answer questions about culture and disease. Large Hawaiian-grown vireya plants will be on sale.
The Society completely funded both the lath house tropical rhododendron garden, and the rhododendron garden. Proceeds from the sale support the work of the society in maintaining these public gardens. Free Admission. For more information, click here https://www.calchapterars.org
