Garden Design without Sprinklers

Tired of the sprinkler system headache? Design a garden landscape with no irrigation required! We all know that water conscious landscapes are perfect for our drought-prone California lifestyle.  “Cash for Grass” programs are a great incentive to remove those browning grass lawns and replace it with a new style of garden. Even if we put aside the environmental stewardship of using less water and the cash bonus for replacement, irrigation systems can drive you crazy!

Join Ruth Bancroft Garden Board Member, Kristin Yanker-Hansen, as she explains how you can design a garden which will not need a sprinkler system for ongoing care.  By utilizing seasons, planting certain species and establishing your plants, you can create a garden where the headache of sprinklers isn’t a required addition to your garden maintenance.
