The wild buckwheats comprise a huge genus centered in western North America, with more than 100 species in California. The genus ranges from tiny ephemeral annuals through mat-forming perennials, herbaceous perennials, and small woody shrubs. This workshop will focus on identifying, growing, and using eriogonums in the landscape. The morning session will be a presentation on the genus with numerous examples, followed by a session on keying to species. The afternoon will focus on looking at as many examples as possible in the botanic garden. (Please bring a lunch)
