What's the best gardening advice you ever received?
“The road to being a great gardener is paved with dead plants.”
Where do you find Inspiration?
Our team finds inspiration literally everywhere in the world around us, natural and otherwise. Once, Flora and the team planned the whole color story for the year based on a photo Flora took of the salad she ate for lunch.
What is something surprising about your history?
Flora Grubb dropped out of high school in ninth grade and started working. She began pulling weeds in my neighbor’s gardens for money when she was still just a young teenager, and she’s been working ever since. Flora has no formal education, and almost everything that she knows she has learned from observation or from reading.
What are you most proud of?
We are most proud of changing the way that the gardens look in the city where we live and work. When we go about the city and see beautiful gardens, filled with our plants, pottery, and furniture, we feel like we’ve really made an impact.
