What is Unique?

Morami Studio

What defines a Morami landscape? Hopefully, nothing. We are not in the business of branding living things with a signature. Rather, we are participants in an ongoing process to study, incubate, nurture and restore. We are historians and futurists. A site is made up of elements that have either been there all along or that are naturalized to be there — quietly sustaining, powerfully restoring — for generations to come.

Unique gardens using regionally specific planting, alternative land management practices and material reuse.

Inspiring Beautiful Gardens, Biodiversity, and the Role of Nature in Supporting Human Health
What's the best gardening advice you ever received?
The garden is never finished.
Where do you find Inspiration?
Our community of designers, the site itself, a large library of books and our clients of course.
What is something surprising about your history?
Entrenched in the design and education communities, we have designed projects across the gamut, and found our sweet spot only recently, with residential projects and small public works. Clients become friends, we are in a relationship to create a place they will experience daily. We know landscape is a significant investment, and I also know it’s value. I hope to share that knowledge with everyone we come across.
What educational resources do you share?
We share a lot of our process on Instagram- @moramistudio
