Mediterranean Muses | Gardens of San Diego

April 7 – 13, 2027 

A 5-day guided garden and farm tour around the San Diego area, featuring private gardens, historic sites, and sustainable agriculture experiences. Sites and gardens include Balboa Park Botanical Building & Central Gardens, a Specialty Produce Supplier Private Tour, Rebecca Long’s Private Garden, the magnificent Point Loma Native Plant Garden, which highlights species adapted to the regionʼs climate while supporting local wildlife and pollinators, Bird Rock Tropicals, Sand n’ Straw Regenerative Farm Tour, The Betsy Schulz Art Studio, Old Town San Diego State Historic Park, Mountain Meadow Mushroom Farms, and numerous other Private Gardens not generally open to the public.

Meet your host

Nan Sterman is a botanist and educator who is dedicated to helping people garden successfully in California’s dry, Mediterranean climate. Nan designs gardens, speaks to groups around the country, and leads international garden tours. Her public TV program A Growing Passion connects people, plants, and the planet. Nan has authored three gardening books and founded the San Diego Gardener Facebook group which serves thousands of members across Southern California. Nan Sterman’s Garden School offers a monthly membership as well as stand-alone classes.
