Weed Walk

Weed walk is an urban hike where attention is placed on street weeds often passed by or disdained. These despicable weeds actually provide medicine, dyes and are nectar sources/ host plants for several native species of bees and butterflies.

In the weed walk, participants become “weed explorers,” meandering through the sidewalks and back alleys of Noe Valley in search of plants to identify, sample and test for natural dyes. The hike included a restful lunch in the sun by an urban waterfall before descending into Eureka valley and Kite Hill.
