Tree Diseases, Pests & The Drought

The class will cover the most common diseases and insect pests of trees in Southern California: Oak Root Rot, Phytophthora Root Rot, Bacterial Leaf Scorch, Polyphageous Shot Hole Bore and Pine Bark Beetles. These diseases and pests are the most common cause of tree death in California. The students will learn how to identify/diagnose each disease or insect pest, how to prevent the pest from attacking or how to treat affected trees.
