The Rise, Decline and Rise of Food Preservation with Ernest Miller

This lively talk and demonstration reveals the fascinating history and cultural importance of food preservation with humor, great visuals and practical advice from a well-seasoned food professional. Ernie is a chef, food historian, UCCE Master Gardener, educator, consultant and founder of Rancho La Merced Provisions LLC. He has been a Master Food Preserver since 2009 and is the program’s lead instructor. He is also co-executive chef of Larchmont Charter School, West Hollywood, producing farm fresh from-scratch meals daily for 310 K-7 students.
