The Conifers of California

California is home to approximately one tenth of the world’s conifers, including redwoods, firs, false cedars, spruces, hemlocks, and pines. We’ll learn field recognition of various aspects of identification, such as the singular cones of each species and the habitats and regions they come from. Taught by Glenn Keator, the first two sessions will be at the Garden and the last session will be in the field in the Mt. St. Helena region.  Please bring a lunch.
