Sissinghurst: Portrait of a Garden

Hear how horticulturist Alexis Datta spent twenty-two years leading the team of gardeners at Sissinghurst Castle Garden, the famous English site designed by Vita Sackville-West and her husband, Harold Nicholson, in the late 1930s.  Learn about the philosophy and history of the garden, and how Vita’s overflowing flower beds and Harold’s formal garden structure of Classical and Moorish influence are maintained and enhanced in the twenty-first century.  Get a virtual tour of teach of the distinctively themed “rooms” of the property, and find out how Datta achieved such spectacular events while maintaining great affection for the garden’s creators.
