Rebecca Lerner “Foraging the Urban Wilderness”

The Hoyt Arboretum welcomes Portland author Rebecca Lerner to talk about edible wild plants and read from her new book Dandelion Hunter: Foraging the Urban Wilderness. This informative and entertaining literary narrative documents her adventures harvesting wild plants for food, medicine and survival in Portland. Publishers Weekly called Dandelion Hunter “the funniest herbal adventure you’ll ever read,” and Rolling Stone said, “You’ll never look at weeds the same way again.” Lerner, a journalist and nature educator, also writes the blog www.FirstWays.com and leads plant identification classes in the Alberta Arts district.
