Planting a Wildlife and Pollinator Friendly Native Garden

This program, presented with live material by Dan Mahoney, will emphasize native plants that have proven to attract butterflies and bees. Plants for butterfly larvae will be covered as well as plants for birds. The best times and techniques for planting will also be covered.
Don Mahoney was born and raised in Nebraska and moved to California to attend the University of California at Berkeley, where he received a Ph.D.in 1984 in Wildland Resource Science. He has worked at the Botanical Garden in San Francisco since that time and is currently Curator Emeritus in the process of retiring. He has taught many classes on native plants over the years.
