Talk Like a Botanist

Have you ever found yourself dazed and confused with technical plant jargon when trying to identify that pretty yellow flower? Do terms like ‘panicle’ and ‘raceme’ make your blood run cold? And if you think achenes and samaras are types of Indian appetizers, then you really need to join Claudia Freitas for a hands on class on making terminology fun! Claudia will give you a look at some of the terminology used in identifying plants, discuss leaf and flower terms, and have examples for you to work with. Please feel free to bring flowers and leaves from your own garden to share. The more the merrier!

PS: Yes, the photo is of a poison oak leaf.
