Orchids by Mike Cory – Bellevue Botanical Garden

Learn about the characteristics and varieties of orchids from around the world.  When buying, learn how to select a healthy orchid and how to care for it once you get it home. Get “hands on” and dissect an orchid blossom to better understand how it is pollinated and what may pollinate it. In addition, orchids are in our holiday foods. Learn about vanilla and its origin. Taught by Mike Cory, secretary of the NW Orchid Society, docent, and board member of Friends of Volunteer Park Conservatory.  Learn about the characteristics and varieties of orchids from around the world.
