Celebrate National Public Gardens day with a tour of the 3.5 acre Ruth Bancroft Garden, filled with thousands of unique drought tolerant plants. Ruth started the Garden, adjacent to her home, in 1972 with one-gallon pots of a wide variety of succulents, many of which are still part of the Garden. Opened to the public in the early 1990s, the Garden is an outstanding example of a water-conserving garden, appropriate for its Mediterranean climate.
