We will explore the dye resist technique “itajime” using this folding and binding method to create your own scarf. Participants will gather plant material and create a monoprint resist using plant dyed wood blocks. The dyed blocks will transfer through the layers of silk, making a repeated pattern with a subtle and surprising botanical pattern, as we over-dye with natural dyes in our workshop with Angelina DeAntonis.
