Description: Adult class. Calling all plant and garden lovers! Go from taking pictures to crafting stunning photographs of the flora around you. Whether you are a beginner with a point-n-shoot camera or comfortable with a DSLR this class will take your photo making process and appreciation to the next level. The class will spend the morning exploring techniques from macro to covering the essence of a space. Finish with a follow up on the big screen looking at images critically, applying software and making finished selections. Bring any digital camera, full batteries and a desire to craft the light! If you have an SLR, tripod, telephoto, wide angle, macro lenses and a polarizing filter bring those as well but not necessary.
Instructor: Joshua McCullough, professional garden photographer and owner of botanical image company PhytoPhoto. His work regularly appears in dozens of garden magazines. Josh notes “The opportunities I’ve had to become acquainted with an incredible diversity of plant species over a vast range of environments is coupled with a passion for finding the essential elements in each. This intersection of science and beauty culminates in my images and the stories they tell. The work of photographing the plant world has a foot in many disciplines, at once an artist, botanist, photographer, and increasingly, a skilled technician of both the ever-changing nomenclature and the equally mercurial tools of modern digital imaging.”
