Hands-on Workshop: Fruit Tree Care and Preparation for the Winter Season

UC Marin Master Gardeners  presents:

The Program: Do you know how to put your fruit trees to bed for the winter? Do citrus trees need protection? Should they be mulched, fed or pruned? Are there pests to watch for? These questions and many more will be discussed at the Fall Plant Sale at the Indian Valley Organic Farm & Garden (IVOF&G), along with a hands-on portion, touring the fruit trees and harvesting some fruit.

The Speakers: John Valenzuela is a horticulturist, consultant and educator. He is Chair of the Golden Gate Chapter of California Rare Fruit Growers and owner or Cornucopia Food Forest. He specializes in the care of fruit trees, especially pruning and grafting.
