The chapter plant sales only come along twice a year but they are always popular and sell out fast. They are typically held on the first Saturday of April and October. Not only county nurseries, but also nurseries from the nearby valley will convene in Placerville to offer a wide selection of native and drought tolerant plants that will grow well in this area. Books on gardening with native plants, books on natural history, and native plant posters will also be available. If you are new to gardening with native plants there will be experienced gardeners on hand to answer your questions.
