Come learn about the horticultural aspects of growing apple trees in your home garden including a cultivar selection for Marin County. Also, correct planting, pruning, fertilizing techniques, and pest management. Jan gives tips on how to harvest crops and what to do with your crop. You’ll get to taste different apple varieties and make some apple juice.
The program will be held during the Fall Indian Valley Organic Farm and Garden Plant Sale.
The Speaker: Jan Lee, an experienced hard cider maker and owner of the AppleGarden Farm in Tomales, will join Wendy Johnson, author, mentor and award winning organic farmer, in discussing all things apple.
Fee: Cost: $30 to be paid in advance. Includes $10 gift certificate for the IVOF&G plant sale held the same day. Parking passes will be issued to those registered.
