San Francisco Rose Society welcomes Kevin Marini, Master Gardener, for a discussion about compost extracts—compost teas, compost leachate, herbal teas (stinging nettles, comfrey) and how to create a compost extract for cultivation of beneficial bacteria.
After returning to school for his teaching credentials, Kevin has become involved in the emerging field of Environmental Education, working extensively in school gardening and organic farming. He is currently the Program Coordinator for the University of California Cooperative Extension Placer and Nevada Counties’ Master Gardener and Composter Programs. Kevin’s specialties include soils, vegetable gardening, and composting education; he trains Master Gardeners all over the state and is known locally around elementary schools as the “Worm Whisperer.”
Sunday, June 14, 1:30pm, Hall of Flowers, County Fair Building, Golden Gate Park
