Botanical Journey through the West

In conjunction with the current Art Gallery exhibit, Rancho Santa Ana Botanical Garden Herbarium Curatorial Assistant, Rachel Poutasse and RSABG Library volunteer, John Bradley, will present on the life and travels of a major late 19th century botanist, Marcus E. Jones, and share some highlights of the collection from the RSABG archives and herbarium.  In March 1894, Marcus Jones took off on an amazing journey in search of plants. He had been appointed a Special Field Agent by the US Department of Agriculture, with a grant enabling him to explore the “vicinity of the Grand Canyon.”
