In this workshop, each participant will make a globular container with rush warps and tule wefts, using California Indian techniques. We will practice various twining stitches to make a patterned exterior and finish with a decorative rim and perhaps a cordage hanging strap. Tule baskets were very commonly made in many parts of California, Oregon, and Nevada, with varying “starts,” weaves, and rim finishes. (Please bring Lunch)
