Join the Los Angeles County Arobertum and Botanical Garden as we celebrate an essential part of the Arboretum experience, Peacocks, with a day of activities exploring their amazing habits and natural attributes. Activities include a Peacock art exhibit in the library. At 3 p.m. enjoy a talk by Roslyn Dakin PhD, who will discuss peacock courting secrets and rituals. Audubon will lead an 8 am bird walk; Peacock walks will be at 1:30 pm and the Peacock Discovery Trail will be open from 10 am until 1 pm. Kids are invited to come in a peacock costume and enjoy story telling at 10, 10:30 and 11 am. Crafts will be ongoing from 10 am until 3 pm. Honoring the peacock’s native country, there will be classical Indian music and delicious Indian food for sale.
